Jesus came to save us; Who were LOST....

Luke 19:10

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Jesus came on this earth to help mankind, which was lost in sin. We still need him as much as humans needed him 2000 years back. Satan has enticed us with his gimmicks from the very beginning. Since God entrusted us with our wish, Adam and Eve got deceived. But, our heavenly father loves us to an extent that he gave his son (John 3:16) for our sins. He came to save us; we who were lost, who were deceived by satan.
Can we do anything without our mighty Jesus? The answer to this question is NO. Because he is the Light (John 8:12) and through him only we can attain salvation (John 14:6). Why does this verse say “save that which was lost”? The answer to this is very simple; WE are all lost people, We live in darkness, therefore Jesus came as a light to enlightened us as to what our purpose in life should be, he was crucified so that our sins could be washed and we could be in front of our Heavenly Father as he wants us to be (He wants us to be like Adam and Eve before they got deceived).

Beware of False Preachers

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Your righteousness defines whether you are a righteous person or an evil person. There are a lot of false prophets and preachers around the world who would try to deceive you with their words but don’t fall into their snare. Satan is always looking to intrigue between God and us through false preachers, but to overpower him (satan), we should read the Bible and understand what is written in it and then come to a conclusion. Whoever supports what is written in the Bible and adheres to it should be heard but whosoever tries to manipulate with his words in the Bible should be cornered. We should always be circumspect about what we are listening and only nod with a “yes” once we have confirmed it through the Bible.

Whom to serve....

Judges 10:13
Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

Here don’t get confused with other gods as only “idols”, but understand the seriousness of the verse wherein it says “served other gods”. Other gods may wary from money to materialistic possession to loving a person so much that you keep him above our True God. Jesus knows our heart inside out (John 2:25). What matters is what is inside our heart and not what we speak from our mouth; that’s why we always say “our actions speak louder than words”. Whatever is in our heart ultimately our deeds will be according to that only and not what we speak. When we give our life to Jesus; confession through the mouth isn’t enough. One should adhere to his commandments and act upon those to ultimately attain salvation. What is the use of accepting him verbally and still keeping the money as the priority in your heart? For Jesus to work in you; you should first of all surrender to him fully.

Promise till Eternity

Romans 6:8
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

This verse is especially for those who still have slightest of doubt as to whether we would attain heaven or hell after our physical death. Remember, when you die with Jesus; i.e. living your life for him, you would definitely live with him not only on earth but also will get to live with him in heaven. That is the grace of our Lord Jesus. Once you accept him fully; he would never ever leave you. Now, that testifies his immense love and compassion for us. All you have to do is accept him without any skepticism and he will be with you forever and ever. Remember that your doubts would only cast shadows on his unending love towards you. Rejoice in his faithfulness and his eternal friendship. Things of this world including people would betray you or leave you, but our mighty Lord Jesus would never forsake us.

Be Humble and Patient

Ephesians 4:2
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.

What a message God has given us through this verse!. Being humble and patient in love are the traits of a righteous person and God through Bible is telling us to be a righteous person. Because of sins (selfishness, anger, and self-centered motives), we see these days people losing their anger without even thinking twice, people break relationships without even trying to know what the other person is going through, such is today’s world that we have stopped caring for each other. People say they are Jesus believers and forget the commandment he gave to us; John 13:34 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
What is the purpose of life without loving your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, basically everyone without getting selfish? One act of selflessness will not only please God but will give you immense satisfaction. A satisfaction which money can’t buy, a satisfaction which you can only experience by committing yourself to God. In love is God and that you can get only by humbling yourself.

Holy Spirit vs Flesh

Romans 8:5
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

What a beautiful message. This verse allows us to do some introspection of ourselves. What are we after in Life? Are we the ones who simply say “We are believers”; but do what we want to and convince our heart in that or are we the ones “Who walk the talk”?
By simply saying “Jesus is my savior and from now on I am a Christian” doesn’t solve the purpose; what God wants to see is a complete overhauling of our body, mind, and spirit. How we behave, what we talk and what we think determines whether we are adhering to his commandments or not. Demands of the flesh lead us to sin whereas our hunger for the Holy Spirit leads us to salvation. Therefore do not fall prey to the desires of your flesh because there Satan has spread a snare for you; instead, focus your mind and thoughts on Holy Spirit because there God has planned salvation for you.

Jesus "as" Wisdom

Proverbs 13:14
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

In Old Testament, Jesus was being referred to as Wisdom in many verses. In fact, when we carefully analyze New Testament and Old Testament; we see a similarity in the commandments/teachings which are often referred as law. When Jesus tells us about how to live and how to conduct ourselves in New Testament you will notice that all those things are being addressed in Old Testament with the wisdom imparted from Heavenly Father as the central figure. So wisdom and Jesus being interchangeable in many aspects, we can safely say that “wisdom” of Old Testament is same as “Jesus” of New Testament. And that is exactly what this verse depicts us. The law of the wise means the law of Jesus; and that law saves us from the snares of death, i.e. eternal death.
As a Christian our priority should be achieving the “eternal life” and that we can achieve only by following the wise, i.e. Jesus. His laws and his ways are impeccable and nothing can beat us if we allow our life to be governed by him. Anybody can have knowledge but wisdom is to use that knowledge aright and that is what Jesus is all about in our lives.
So next time you pray simply, ask God to usher his wisdom onto you and you will see your life change forever.

Bible as user manual

Psalm 119:18

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

People think that there are lots of dos and don’ts in the Bible and if they start following everything that is written in the Bible then their life would be insipid. How immature their brain is?. The Bible is a user manual given to us by our creator so that we may live a righteous life. People who follow the Bible and its teachings and live their lives with the Bible as their yardstick not only flourish but get blessings from God in abundance. We all know how Daniel was steadfast in his faith in God and how even in toughest of times he didn’t abandon God’s teachings. We all can learn from the life of Daniel and can implement that kind of faith and dedication into our life. God’s law which has been given to us may feel demanding at times but eventually, when one keeps on walking in faith he gets deliverance from God. Once the law gets into our body we feel enlightened in our spirit, and then you start rejoicing in Lord. Therefore to understand God and his laws it is imperative to study the Bible.

Have Patience in GOD

Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Now, this is the problem all of humanity faces; lack of patience. Whatever we want we want it right now. But let me tell you that we don’t get what we want as per our time but we get as per God’s time. Patience and endurance in Jesus will lead to success and eternal peace. You can’t put your trust and faith on due date/expiry structure. Our love and faith on Jesus should be beyond the boundaries of time, i.e. it should be everlasting.

Jesus is our Light

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

“Let light shine out of darkness” how powerful this line is let alone the message. We all are born in God’s image but somehow we drift away from the one in whose image we have been created. Now, darkness simply means the Satan who deceives us and engulfs us to do what God doesn’t like. But through Jesus, God gave us the light to navigate in that darkness and to come out of it.  Jesus is the light which pierces all the negativity around us and opens up a whole new world of opportunities and avenues. He is like a torch for nomads like us on a dark night walking in desert.

God's Number

Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Jeremiah 33:3 is also known as God’s phone number by Jeremiah 333. Whenever we are in trouble or in an emergency you can dial Jeremiah 333 and God will answer you. Our God is a God of love, compassion, and mercy, he doesn’t want his people to be in affliction and pain and that is why he says “call unto me”. We forget to call and seek God’s advice in distress, instead we listen to people around us. Are they capable enough to guide us or to solve our problems? The answer is no (Psalm 118:8). We humans are not equipped to turn affliction into joy only; Jesus our savior has that power and authority. If we try and take anyone’s help other than God, we would only be inviting trouble because it would be like an invitation for satan to interfere in our life and take control of it. Which in the hindsight would be catastrophic.
Every day, everyone goes through a rough patch and that is why God has instructed through this verse to come to him and not to go astray in troubled times. With God, everything is possible (Matthew 19:26). He has the power and dominion over everything but because of his love towards mankind he gave us the freedom of “will”. And with that will we have the choice of choosing our creator as our “savior” or the one who deceived mankind in beginning (Adam and Eve). Choose carefully and dial the right number.

Learn from Jesus

1 Peter 4:1
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin

Main reason for not letting go of sins is our comfort and luxurious lifestyle. We simply aren’t willing to forgo it. We just keep on clinging to it because letting go of luxuries in life are extremely tough. Helping the needy in scorching heat seems a difficult task these days because we are spending our precious time in comfort of air conditioners; aren’t we?. We are more concerned as to who tagged or poked us on facebook and whose message we have received on WhatsApp rather than knowing the condition of a poor who hasn’t had food for days. We turn a blind eye to them or we causally sympathize with them thinking in our heart what miserable life they are living. But, people forget it’s written in Bible that apart from faith our deeds are equally important (James 2:1). Jesus suffered for us, for our sins. Can’t he be our role model apart from being our God? Aren’t we willing to learn from his life, aren’t we supposed to help the deprived one’s so that their faith would also increase because they would presume that their prayers have been answered by God through us. When will we show to the world our faith in Jesus through our deeds? Jesus himself said that if we want to follow him we will have to take up our cross alone (Matthew 16:24) and here by the cross, he wanted to convey the pain/suffering he took for humankind. Like he carried the burden of entire mankind similarly we should try and take others burden and help them to reduce it. When God blesses us with something, he actually wants to use us for others. What is the use of earning money and not using it for philanthropy? What is the use of your education when you can’t impart your gained education to an underprivileged child who doesn’t have means to get himself educated?
So, always remember Jesus has taught us to be altruistic and we should learn that lesson from him and implement it.

Have your eyes and ears on God

Mark 8:18
Having eyes, see ye not? And having ears, hear ye not? And do ye not remember?

We all have eyes and ears but still fail to understand the Love of God. We fail to see his love and compassion for human beings which is everlasting (Psalm 103:17), we fail to listen to his voice even when we have ears. Remember how “Eve” got deceived and surrendered her will to the serpent and ate that fruit from the tree (Genesis 3). God had instructed both Adam and Eve not to eat from that tree; but what they did?, they did exactly the opposite of it. Similarly, we even after having eyes to see; and ears to listen to commandments of God miserably fail to adhere to it. We don’t remember the story of Adam and Eve, we forget the story of Samson; and how they got deceived and paid the price of it. Why? Why don’t we remember and understand God’s love and glory?
Samson was a blessed child of God and had the capability to destroy his enemies alone but he too fell into the trap of a woman and gave away his powers given by God to his lustful desires. Now, those lustful desires were nothing but satanic desires which bypassed the commandments of God and tempted Samson to get deceived. We are no different from Samson. We have eyes to read Bible yet our haughty eyes gets deceived, we have ears but they only want to hear “self-praise” and eventually falls in the trap of evil and gets deceived. So, Jesus here is trying to remind us that from the very beginning we have everything required to focus on God but we forget what gifts he has granted to us and fall into the trap of lucifer.

Power of Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Power of Cross!! What an expression.  Whole of Christianity revolves around incident of Jesus getting crucified on the cross and being resurrected on the third day.  Gospel without Jesus being sacrificed on the cross for our sins is nothing. The whole teaching of Bible is about “God giving his only son for our sins so that we could be saved and have eternal life as God thought for us (John 3:16) while creating Adam and Eve. It was only because of Adam and Eve that sin entered our blood (Romans 5:12). They were got deceived by satan (Genesis 3:1-7) and ultimately paid the price for it  by getting banished from “Garden of Eden” (Genesis 3:23).

Only through Jesus sacrificial death for humankind could we be redeemed of our sins (Ephesians 1:7) and that is what good news of gospel is all about. The power of God can be felt and experienced when we accept Jesus as our savior and understand in totality as to why he died for us. People engulfed with demonic powers still don’t consider and understand the power of the cross and they mock the people who believe in it.
Eventually, people who have faith in Jesus and power of cross are being assured of things they hope for (Hebrews 11:1) and  are being shown the way to heaven where our “Heavenly Father” awaits us.

Jesus as Light

John 12:46
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Isn’t that a powerful statement. We all live in darkness before accepting Jesus in our life. We are being misguided by worldly things and we assume that living lavish life is our purpose of existence. Darkness engulfs us and we are being surrounded by satan and we keep committing sin.
Only when Jesus comes in our life we understand the power of light that he brings in our life. Gravitas of his presence can only be felt when we come out the dark world i.e. worldly life. John 14:6 is a vindication of what Jesus talks about in John 12:46. Life of darkness is life full of sin whereas life with Jesus is full of love and compassion and ultimately attaining heaven. We all are sinners and we needed that savior in our life to save our souls and for the very same God gave his only son to us (John 3:16) so that God’s own beautiful creation “man” (Genesis 1:27) can be saved from disastrous life in hell. Once a man sees that light which is Jesus he will come out darkness and experience happiness and satisfaction on earth and a place in heaven.

Beware of False Prophets

1 Timothy 1:7

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Lot of us have experienced this attitude by so called “elders/preachers”. New Testament has warned us again and again to be vigilant of false teachers/preachers and prophets. In Jesus times Pharisees and scribes tried to outscore Jesus by trying to instigate him and trying to trap in his words (e.g. Matthew 22:23-46, Mark 12:13). But every time they tried they failed miserable (e.g. Mark 12:17). Similarly, these days number of false teachers and preachers are on rise. They try to twist the verses from Bible and interpret them as they want to for their own materialistic benefit. Of course they will have to pay for their sins in hell but remember they are doing the damage while living. When we stop reading Bible and having interceding with God, we easily fall in the trap of these satan powered preachers.
God through Bible has warned us time and again to be circumspect of these false prophets because as Bible says “they come to us in sheep’s clothes but inwardly they are ravaging wolves” (Matthew 7:15). Whatever elders and preachers preach check it with Bible whether the message falls in the line of Biblical teaching or not. There is no harm in cross checking as you will get double sure that only Bible teachings are being taught to you and not satanic teachings.

Work Hard And God will take care

Proverbs 28:19
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

Who says that Bible only teaches on faith and not on hard work. God will bless those who really do work with dedication and honesty. People who make excuses for not doing their work will ultimately bear the brunt of it. Along with faith in God, one must remember that our Lord likes people who aren’t lazy. Our Heavenly Father will bless us abundantly if we continue to work sincerely. We would never be laggards in our particular field.
Indolent people would always blame God for not getting rewards but they forget that by being sluggish they disobeyed God in the first place. Why would God ignore the prayers of a hard working person who obeys him by doing his work whole heartedly? Once we toil hard in our particular field we surely would be blessed and yield good results (Proverbs 14:23). For a student to get good grades he has to work hard, merely by sitting and thinking that God would help him won’t fetch him good grades, for a farmer to get good harvest he has to put in his labor in field, for a service person he has to work hard in his office to get promotion and similarly every person in his field has to put in best effort for getting rewards.
So next time you think about being getting lazy think twice and read Proverbs 28:19.

Give Love Receive Love

Luke 6:31
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

These are the words of our Lord; Jesus Christ. So simple yet so powerful. Behave in a way that you want others to behave with you, speak in a way that you want others to speak with you, think of them in a way that you want them to think about you. That is basically, how we all should live our lives. Having love, mercy and compassion for others are the traits that Jesus demands of us.
Life would become a bed of roses if every person behaves with others compassionately and with a kind heart. Jesus also instructs us to love one another (Mark 12:31). An altruistic person is not only a blessing for others but he also earns blessings of God for himself. In entire New Testament Jesus plays the role of a luminary to perfection. Our duty is to follow his footsteps and try to achieve what is instructed us to do.
By behaving affectionately with others we not only keep Jesus command but we also win the heart of the person for whom we are affectionate. Love is something which will blossom more if it spreads. Let’s from today forget about our past and only work on improving ourselves by following Jesus and his decree. Amen

Let Lord's plan work on us

Proverbs 21 : 30
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

Some worldly people think that by their planning they can defeat the Lord’s plan too. Pity on those people who even dare to think in that way. Can creator’s plan be modified let alone changed? Our plans and our works are being predetermined by God (Ephesians 2:10), we have no power to even challenge it, let alone change it. Plans that God has made for us are always productive and brings victory to us (Jeremiah 29:11). We are all God’s children (Galatians 3:26) and as our father, he would never have any plan which will harm us. Our aim should be to have patience in him and seek his guidance in all that we plan to do.
If we pursue him with all our vigor there is no way that he won’t reveal himself to us. In whatever we do simply ask for “his will” and once holy Ghost approves of that plan there is no looking back. That plan would change our life for better and with Lord’s everlasting love and compassion we would be blessed with success.

Monday 20 June 2016

Work in Jesus name

Proverbs 20 : 13
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

Laziness is another form of sin. It destroys a person from inside. When a person feels inertia to pray, to worship, to work he doesn’t take his life forward but he commits sin in the eyes of Lord. We are all supposed to work and extol God and failing in either one is like not adhering to his commandments. When we say that God will take care of us, in that also one requires faith and prayers and worshipping. If a person isn’t able to withhold the feeling of laziness he is basically falling into the trap of satan.
Once a person decides to open his eyes and resolves to do hard work in Jesus’ name; Jesus would fulfill the desires of his heart (John 15:7). Whatever we do in Jesus name we shall succeed in that plan (Proverbs 16:3). When a person makes a plan but doesn’t seek the guidance of God in that plan in the pretext of being extremely busy there is every possibility that his plan won’t be that of God’s plan for him and he might tumble in future. Therefore, in whatever we decide to do, Our Lord’s enlightenment on it is of utmost value for us to be line with his plans.

Thursday 16 June 2016

Lord is full of compassion and love

Psalm 9:10
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Our mighty Lord; would never forsake us in any situation. For God is not human to be opportunistic. We all are his children created in his image (Genesis 1:27). His name is to be extolled for he is full of compassion and grace. Even, if we are buffoons, he will still give us an opportunity to redeem ourselves of our sins; and that is the reason why he gave his only son “Jesus” to the world so that whoever believes in him would have eternal life (John 3:16).
Never try to test God’s patience because he is perfectly capable of annihilating you; remember the story of “Noah”. Therefore, exalt Jesus in your life. He is there to forgive you, he is there to bring you out of trouble, he is there to give you peace and eternal life. But remember treacherous people would be punished, they will have to face his wrath.
Trust in Jesus to see miracles happening in your life. You would be going through a lot of problems, you might be feeling depressed and useless but don’t give it up on God because he is there watching you and wants you to keep looking at him. He will take you out of troubles and ultimately will give you an eternal life.

Glorify Heavenly Father

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Some people observe our deeds without letting us know that they are keeping an eye on us. With their observations, they may be inspired to know our Heavenly Father; through Jesus Christ “our savior”. Therefore, always keep your deeds righteous because we never know how God is using us to be an example for others to know about Jesus. When we do our good works in private and public; people around us will know that we “walk the talk”. We aren’t among those Gentiles who can preach on salvation but can’t implement the ways in ourselves. Let our vile thoughts be suppressed by the power of God; by living a righteous life. Our walk with God will vindicate others that once we accept Jesus in our life; we become free of our sins. Jesus died for our sins, and Glorified His Father in Heaven, similarly we should let the good deeds dwell in our spirit so that our right/good works would also Glorify our Heavenly Father.

Thursday 9 June 2016

Always be Righteous

Proverbs 10:2
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Earn millions and billions of dollars but it would not buy you life (place in heaven). Be poor but live a righteous life and get your ticket to heaven. It is really as simple as that. When we take birth in our flesh we have to die one day; physically; but what matters is “what will happen to us in eternal life”. Whether, we live there with God in heaven or we face extreme affliction in hell.
We generally don’t think about what will happen to us and get carried away in worldly saying “Live in Present”; ignoring the fact that our life on this earth is limited but our eternal life would be forever. The choice is ours; whether we want to be happy by wicked ways for some time and face the agony forever in Hell or we just follow righteous path of God here and rejoice in heaven with Him.
Next thing which may pop up in your mind is what exactly does this term “righteous” mean. So, the simple answer to this question is “God gave us the laws and the way to live in Bible” and when you follow his laws and his prescribed ways, you are deemed to be a righteous person.
Some might say that to keep up with the laws is next to impossible because the “standard” is just too high for a person in the flesh. But the good news is righteousness is possible even when we are in our flesh through the cleansing of sin in the name of Jesus Christ and accepting him wholeheartedly. Because through him only we can attain the inner perfection and can achieve salvation.

Wednesday 8 June 2016

Commitment and Obedience

Proverbs 16:3
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

The moment you let God work in your life, you set yourself free from all troubles and anxieties of life. Cast your anxieties on Lord (1 Peter 5:7) and he will take care of your success. Our thoughts might be governed by satan and may be evil because those would be selfish in nature but his ways are righteous (Psalm 145:17) and correct. Whatever we desire in our life let it work out as per God’s will and ways. You will feel immense satisfaction and will see getting triumph in life. We lack commitment and complete obedience in Lord for our work because of consternation which in itself is devilish in nature.
Whatever work you want to begin; start it with a prayer and with his will because that is the key to righteous way. Often we forget to ask for his will which results in us being laggards in that work. That’s why unabridged commitment and complete obedience in Jesus serves as a precautionary remedy for any future disaster. Depend on God’s providence and grace for assistance and success.

Tuesday 7 June 2016

Let His Will Be Fulfilled

Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

The verse reflects the reality of our life. Keep our happiness in Lord and you will never be betrayed because a person or satan can deceive you, hurt you but remember God would never forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6) in any circumstance; in fact, he will guide and protect you.
Our lustful desires are the cause of our sufferings because instead of trusting in Lord we lean on our own understanding and get caught up in worldly things. Whereas, the Word of the God clearly tells us not to lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) because it will convince you to do sinful acts by justification. At the time of creation, One thing that God gave us was the liberty  of decision. Through it, he gave us the license to choose between righteous ways and evil ways. By this wishful thinking of ours  either we could trust in Lord and eventually lead a satisfied life or we could turn away from God and fall into the hands of satan to face the wrath of God in hell.
Keep your happiness in Lord as his ways are righteous; even if that means having patience. With his will whatever you get will be the best and will have his blessings. Our desires should be in accordance with his ways and will. Why seek trouble when we know the price that we have to pay for not being an obedient child of God. Instead, let’s accept Jesus and let our desires in his will get fulfilled.

Monday 6 June 2016

Faith

Psalm 3:3
But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

When you have God in your life you would walk with a “Godly Pride” and not a “Worldly Pride”. The power of Jesus engulfs you and protects you from a possible attack from satan. When you walk with God you will carry a special aroma of glory with you which others can feel and sense. People will be spellbound by the Glory of Jesus that you carry.
God creates a kind of “Halo” effect around your body to protect you from evil; only if you look at him and trust in him. Your walk with God is a journey which will carry on with you till eternity because to be in heaven you have to constantly intercede with God.
No matter how many atrocities you face; with God, you head will always be held high because of the gratification your spirit will experience in him. People with weak faith will easily falter the moment satan attacks them.
John 16:33 talks about the reality which Jesus tells; “tribulations in world” but he also says clearly that he overcame all the tribulations so shall we in His name. Jesus knew about the troubles you will face while walking with him but always remember your faith in him will decide whether you will be able to overcome it with dignity or will falter in between resulting in torrid times ahead.

My Deeds, My Judgement

Ezekiel 18:20

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

This verse defies the general perception of doing “good deeds in order to get blessings for their family”. It explains to us that we as an individual would be judged by God (Romans 2:6) and that our individual “ledger” (if I may so use it to explain in worldly terms) would be seen by God to judge us not our family’s ledger or parent’s ledger for that matter. The righteousness of a father may inspire his son to follow God’s path but in no way, his father’s righteousness would help him on judgment day. Similarly, if the father is a wicked man but his son a righteous one; he won’t have to bear the brunt of his father’s wrongdoing.
Generally, this may not be accepted by many individuals because they are of the opinion that good deeds would save them and their family on Judgement day. But the fact of the matter is we ourselves are responsible for our eternal life (Heaven or Hell). Have faith in Jesus while doing right things and God would definitely reward you in heaven else be ready to face his wrath in hell.

We were all being created individually just as a potter makes one pot at a time (Isaiah 64:8). How then is it possible to be judged jointly or in a group. For the Lord has plans for us individually as he had plans for OT prophets. We simply can’t rule out the fact that an individual’s faith and actions would reap him results just as the famous saying goes “what we sow is what we reap”. Your righteousness on earth would reap you benefits in the afterlife, i.e. heaven.
